Truth!

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32 KJV

What exactly is the truth? Is it something that we were taught when we were children? Something that our parents impressed upon us?
Nowadays, the truth is one thing to one person and another thing to another person. What exactly is the truth then?
This post is going to be based more on personal experience than scripture. I would just like people to seek the truth for themselves.
In this political season we constantly hear "the truth" on the news. One candidate says one thing while the other counters it with something else. Each claim their own perspective is the truth.
How do we know who's telling the truth and which one is actually not? By searching out the facts. To quote a very popular TV show, the truth is out there. If you look hard enough, you will find it. Sometimes reality is sitting right under your noses.
By searching for the truth, I don't mean just sit and watch the news media for your "facts." As someone who works in the news business, I can tell you with absoulte certainty that there is a media bias and a lot of the time the whole truth goes unreported.
How this can happen in this age is quite simple: one fails to report the other side to a story. Sometimes it even goes as far as not even getting the other side. This is unethical!
But the real truth here is the blatant fact that people are so blinded by ignorance and hatred, they refuse to hear the facts even when they are so obvious.
We cannot allow this to take place! It is OUR responsibility to seek the truth out. We are a curious people, there is nothing wrong with checking the facts before committing to the reality.
In fact, the Bible even speaks about this. The apostle Paul went to Berea to preach. The people there listened to him and tested what he was saying against the scriptures. (Acts 17:10-12)
The point here is that even Paul had to be checked out before people would take his word as the truth. That's the way God wants us to go about dealing with information. It's way too easy plug our ears and go "LA LA LA LA!"
Bottom line, when we go to the polls and cast our votes this year, please know who you are voting for. Don't just vote one way because the media or hollywood stars tell you to. Use your best judgement and follow your heart. Listen to that still small voice that calls from inside. Our very way of live depends of people having the whole truth!

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee..." Hosea 4:6 KJV
