Truth!

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32 KJV

What exactly is the truth? Is it something that we were taught when we were children? Something that our parents impressed upon us?
Nowadays, the truth is one thing to one person and another thing to another person. What exactly is the truth then?
This post is going to be based more on personal experience than scripture. I would just like people to seek the truth for themselves.
In this political season we constantly hear "the truth" on the news. One candidate says one thing while the other counters it with something else. Each claim their own perspective is the truth.
How do we know who's telling the truth and which one is actually not? By searching out the facts. To quote a very popular TV show, the truth is out there. If you look hard enough, you will find it. Sometimes reality is sitting right under your noses.
By searching for the truth, I don't mean just sit and watch the news media for your "facts." As someone who works in the news business, I can tell you with absoulte certainty that there is a media bias and a lot of the time the whole truth goes unreported.
How this can happen in this age is quite simple: one fails to report the other side to a story. Sometimes it even goes as far as not even getting the other side. This is unethical!
But the real truth here is the blatant fact that people are so blinded by ignorance and hatred, they refuse to hear the facts even when they are so obvious.
We cannot allow this to take place! It is OUR responsibility to seek the truth out. We are a curious people, there is nothing wrong with checking the facts before committing to the reality.
In fact, the Bible even speaks about this. The apostle Paul went to Berea to preach. The people there listened to him and tested what he was saying against the scriptures. (Acts 17:10-12)
The point here is that even Paul had to be checked out before people would take his word as the truth. That's the way God wants us to go about dealing with information. It's way too easy plug our ears and go "LA LA LA LA!"
Bottom line, when we go to the polls and cast our votes this year, please know who you are voting for. Don't just vote one way because the media or hollywood stars tell you to. Use your best judgement and follow your heart. Listen to that still small voice that calls from inside. Our very way of live depends of people having the whole truth!

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee..." Hosea 4:6 KJV

Are you lost?

"All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23
That isn't a very promising scripture. Many may not like that message. It's true though. No man is righteous in the eyes of God. Many people may lead a "good life" but you are still sinful. Let me explain.
Sin entered into the world by one man, Adam. When man was created, we were sinless and righteous. We were created in the image of God and we were given dominion over everything that was on earth. (Genesis 1:26) Adam actually stood in the presence of God, he actually saw Him in His glory. God told Adam and Eve that they could eat of every tree in the garden except the tree of knowledge. Satan seduced them into disobeying God and they committed the first sin.(Genesis 3) When that happened, there was the separation of man from God. Man, who had authority and dominion bowed his knee to Satan and man was now dead in sin. Man could no longer look upon God because His glory and majesty would kill him. Satan was now the ruler of the world. Sin began to pass from generation to generation.
God hates sin, but He loves us so much that He is willing to forgive us. In the Old Testament, sins were covered by a sacrifice on an altar to God. "Without the shedding of blood there is no remission for sin." (Hebrews 9:22) When one sinned, he would take a sacrifice up to the altar and burn it as a sign of obedience and God would forgive him. As the world grew older, sins became more abundant. It got to the point where a simple animal sacrifice wasn't enough to cover the sins of men. God had to provide His own Lamb for the sacrifice. That Lamb had a name, Jesus Christ.
Jesus was sent into the world for one purpose, to die for our sins and reconcile us to God. He was the blood sacrifice for everyone. When He was crucified, He took all the sin that everyone has committed upon His shoulders. "He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquity...and by His stripes we are healed!" (Isaiah 53:5)
You can be set free from this present evil world. We can become children of God once again. All you have to do is accept Jesus into your heart as your Savior. It's easy! Just ask Him in and He will. You will be born-again. (John 3:3) When Judgement Day comes, if you're born-again, God will see Jesus in you and He will allow you to enter the gates of Heaven, you will be home. Time is short, make the decision for Jesus Christ now!! Don't wait, you may not get another chance and if you should die without Jesus, you will spend eternity in torment with Satan and his angels. Think about it!! Read about God's love and forgiveness in the book of Romans. Get to know God and His eternal Word! Remember, He'll never leave you or forsake you. (Joshua 1:5; I Samuel 12:22) God loves you, (John 3:16) Amen!!

"Incoming!"

"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal..." 2 Corinthians 10:4 KJV

What does this mean? It means that there's a war going on. Yes, there is definitely fighting going on all around the globe. But there is a more serious war going on that we cannot see. It is being waged even now, on all fronts. This unseen war is causing every conflict that the eye CAN see.

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenl realms." Ephesians 6:12 NIV

Again, the focus here is the unseen, spritual realm. Huh? What are you trying to push on people? Nothing but the truth.
If you were to take a poll across the board, you would probably find that most people believe in God. What is a little disturbing is that while these people acknowledge that there is an Intelligent Creator that made them and the world that they live in, they dismiss the idea that there also is a devil.
I've got news for you, he's real! And he wants you dead! Sobering thought.
For those who don't know the whole story, I'll condense it as much as I can here. Satan, better known as the devil, was once Lucifer. He was an arkangel in the presence of the Almighty Himself. He chose to rebel against God and His angels, and because of this he was cast down and out of the presence of God. (Isaiah 14:12-15) Lucifer became Satan and he led outcast angel followers, now demons, against everything that is of God.
That's where we, as mankind, come in. God loves each and every one of us. He wants nothing but the best for us. That's why the devil hates us so much. For every ounce of love God has for us, Satan has just that much hate for us. We are his most prized target. By hurting us, Satan hurts God.
That's the war we're all in. Choose to accept it or not, it still goes on. If you refuse to believe and go on living the life you're currently living, eventually the sights of the enemy will be trained on you. He'll pull the spiritual trigger and eventually his barrage of evil will find its mark.
The good news is that you can find shelter. There is a suit of armor waiting for you. It has your name on it. All you have to do is open the door, reach out and receive it.
Jesus Christ is the answer to your problems. HE was nailed to the cross for us. HE provides the answer.
If you seem to be in a world of despair and can't find your way out, know that you are not alone. Your help is only one step away. That step can be an easy one. Just accept that you are loved by God and simply humble yourself before him and pray this prayer:
"Dear Lord, I come before you broken and without hope. I need your help. I accept the sacrifice that You sent through Your Son Jesus. I accept Him as My Lord and Savior. Save me from the fires of hell. I want to live for You. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

Know that you are now part of the Holy Family of God. You are redeemed. Things will get better, and Jesus will never leave your side. (Hebrews 13:5 KJV)

The next time someone yells "incoming!" and you feel those spiritual bombs coming close, turn to Ephesians chapter 6. Put on the whole armor of God and stand against the weapons of the enemy.
